Our studio consists of a team of Architectural Designers, Space Planners & Interior Designers.
This was an interesting project for us. Our client approached us after they bought a very modern flat within a tall skyscraper in the heart of the new Dalston Square development in Hackney.
The views over East London were incredible which we utilised within our design.
We created a full Interior Design package to help our client create a wonderful sense of luxury and a sense of staying in their very own boutique hotel.
Rich materials were used and offset against a moody lighting scheme. The overall feeling was of a high-end hotel suite in the clouds.

This project is a passion-project for the studio. Designed as a Summer retreat for the founders of Foreign Bear Studio the house is designed to afford views across the rugged and unspoilt landscape of North West Donegal.
The design of the house is simple and references the local vernacular where a main ‘home-house’ would be surrounded with smaller outhouses or barns used for storage or at a time for housing animals. The design of the house resembles this scattering of houses clumped together.
The house includes a design for doors that can be fully opened, one onto the surrounding landscape, the other onto a sheltered inner courtyard area, which is ideal for alfresco eating or from sheltering from the wind that comes in off the Atlantic ocean. Allowing the house to be used fully in all seasons.
This is an exquisitely detailed private house, perfect for those wishing to experience life by the sea in an exceptional environment.

This project shows how we can best design even the smallest of spaces. A dilemma for our client, how to screen off their open-plan living space while also creating an interesting kitchen area replete with clever storage solutions.
We tackled the issues we confronted in this smaller space head-on and the client was delighted with their new living space.

This project was included here to show the depth and attention to detail the studio create when compiling a full planning application for the local planning authority.
The studio have become specialists in achieving full planning permission in particularly strict conservation areas. The part of Hackney where this house is situated in particular has an Article 4 direction over the street which means the restrictions are even more stringent.
But the studio work closely and collaboratively with the local planning officers from inception of the design to ensure we are all on the same page and can achieve full permission for our clients in the most tricky of situations.
This project has been detailed over a long period, the studio decided to excavate the rear garden in the design to achieve nearly 3 metre tall ceilings in the rear extension creating a great sense of space and light.
The extension is then clad in a black matt zinc, giving a crisp finish to the exterior.

Lofts are key in many London homes as space is at a premium and so we at the studio create many versions of loft spaces for our varied clients.
With this particular project the studio achieved full planning permission for this loft space in Hampstead, in one of the strictest conservation areas in London, The Hampstead Gardens Conservation Areas.
As with all our projects light and a sense of space no matter what the size of the actual floor area is what is at the forefront of our design decisions.

The Roof Garden
The studio gained full planning permission here for this unique project. A brand new storey on top of a modern block in the heart of Hackney village. Right by Hackney Town Hall, the location of this project meant it was of particular interest to the conservation department within the Hackney planning authority.
We worked closely with the planners to gain full permission for our clients which we did to their delight.
Green space in the form of a living wall and tons of light pouring into the space was at the forefront of our design, an oasis of calm in the sky for our clients.
